Lake of the Isles - Hennepin County - Minnesota

Lake of the Isles is one of the metro lakes where I spent countless hours of my youth. My brother Ben and I would ride our bikes down to the channel between what was then Lake Calhoun and Lake of the Isles to do some fishing. I also spent a summer with my buddy, August, canoeing around Lake of the Isles, catching turtles in fishing nets before releasing them. It was a pretty cool way for two sixth graders to spend a summer. 

The map itself is done in three foot layer increments, and consists of 12 layers total. It got plenty of attention from the local community at the Uptown Art Festival as well.
