Rabbit Lake Map – Crow Wing County – Minnesota
Rabbit Lake was one of the most challenging maps for me to design at the time. With a maximum depth of 337 feet, it was quite difficult to find a way to express how deep the lake is without making it 36 layers thick, and without losing some of the subtle detail for the 90% of the lake that isn't quite as deep. In the end, I came up with an elegant solution which revealed the structure and scale of the lake. This has been one of my more popular maps. I happen to think it's gorgeous.
